Biggest Reasons Why Americans Are Overweight!

Americans are said to be the most over weight, but many have a hard time figuring out why.  Why is it that many Americans are starting to be overweight and in worse health than the previous generation?  I think I have the answer.

Reason 1

Exercise….
Many Americans nowadays aren’t getting enough exercise.  That’s right, something as simple as exercise can have a big impact on our daily lives.  In the movie WALL-E, the people roamed around on hover chairs.  Who needs a wheel chair right?  Especially when the machine will do all the work for you.

Is that the kind of life style we want?  To be subjects who are limited in our mobility based on some machine?  Right now many kids are experiencing this because of Parents not letting their kids play in the park.  Instead, they’ll let them play Video Games all day and do nothing.

Now, before you go bashing Video games and start blaming the games themselves, maybe you should take a closer look a parenting.  I play Video Games myself, but that doesnt’ mean that Nerds can’t be fit.  I in fact have started a Cardio Routine, which will eventually turn into running, which in turn will turn into a Marathon.

I have goals, kids nowadays, don’t.  That’s partly because parents let their kids spend too much time playing Video Games as apposed to….well, playing.

Reason 2

Over Indulging…..
Many restaurants have started (in the last decade)  increasing portion sizes.  Now, they even go as far as encourage you to get a large or (in some cases) super-size.  In this case, bigger isn’t always better.  Tell me something.

Do you feel better now that you’re bigger?  Again, bigger isn’t always better.  My parents often times make two meals out of one meal when they go out to eat.  Why?  Many of these meals are filled with Calories.  Many of them over 1,000 calories.  That’s half a days Calories for most.

Reason 3

Quality of Food
Our food quality has reduced in the last 10-20 years drastically.  Farmers are basically killing the land that they farm one with all the chemicals that they spray on plants.  Therefore, we’re forced to look for alternatives: plants that are bug resistant, plants that yield more, and even plants that grow better in certain climates.

When you start tampering with plants: spraying chemicals, changing DNA strands, making them more volatile, something has to give.  So, where do we suffer?  In Nutritional Value.  I can’t stress this enough….

Life is too precious to tamper with.  By tampering with those plants, they’re tampering with our health.  Empty calories adds to our over all weight.  Really.  What else is our body going to use useless calories for?

Happy Veterans Day + Special Charity Event for 11/11/11

Ever sense learning of the 11/11/11 date being a Special date for Binary reasons and other various reasons.  I figured, why not take action?  So, I did.  I’ve planned out a special event for that day.

It’s always been my dream to travel the world.  Mostly throughout Europe, Asia, and Australia.  There are however other places I’d like to travel to.  I recently set up a Facebook Fan Page to get this operation off the ground.  Here’s what I decided to do for 11/11/11.

First off, a very happy Veterans Day to all you Veterans out there.  For those of you reading this, it’s a special day indeed.  Especially for you Nerd/Geek Veterans.  As they say, “It’s On.”  For those of you who don’t know, Binary consist of ones and zeroes.  Zero is off and One is on.  So, it’s on.  I’m one of the many who are grateful for all the service Veterans and current soldiers have and are doing.

Now, on to the plan.  I’ve set up a PayPal account for accepting donations.  Donations for what exactly?  I’ll be straight forward.  I’m trying to raise funds for my trip to Europe.  There are those who do, and those who never get anywhere.  I for one will realize my dream one way or another.

What’s the kicker?  Normally, I’d donate 10% of all donations to a charity.  However, sense today is a special day, I figured I’d celebrate by donating %50 of everything I receive to a Charity?  What Charity?  It’s rather a special one.

Grassroot Soccer (GRS), an international non-profit focused on HIV prevention and a leader in the sport for development field, uses the power of soccer to educate, inspire, and empower young people in Africa to live healthy and productive lives. GRS conducts HIV prevention and life skills interventions in over 15 countries, to provide youth with the knowledge, skills, and support to live healthier lives. GRS has graduated 400,000 youth worldwide and plans to educate 1 million youth by 2014.

I believe in education rather than giving people everything they need.  This is why I’m supporting this charity.  If all goes well, I’ll continue give the 50% contribution.  That is my promise to you as a reader and potential supporter.  You don’t have to donate to make a difference, just spreading the word via your networks will help just as much.

Daily Fitness Goals

A few days ago, I’ve started to keep track of my Cardio progress.  Today is day 4 of the start.  Missed a day, so I had to make up for it by adding an extra minute to my Cardio routine.  What is my fitness goal/challenges?  To add one minute of Cardio to my routine.  In other words, on day one I started with 10 minutes.  Then add one minute to that the next day to get 11 minutes of Cardio.  The 11 minute mark is actually the one that I missed.  The reason I decided not to do it, was because I had did quite a bit of walking that day.  Still, no excuses.  Someone slap me.  Here’s an update on my progress.

Empire Avenue New Dividends Changes

Recently, Empire Avenue made a few changes to how the Algorithms work.  In other words, many people who were gaming the system, should see a bit of change in their dividends.  If you’re posting 200-400 post a day to Facebook and wonder why your dividends have changed, this is why.

The short answer.  Rather than make a long lengthy blog post like the EAv team did, I figured I’d shorten it a bit.  With no further ado, here are the changes.

Empire Avenue: Login and do some transactions (even if you just buy or sell one or two users) regularly. Send shareholder mail and be active in your communities, and get others to respond to your posts.

Facebook, Facebook Pages: Post statuses. The more comments and likes you get on those statuses, the better.

Twitter: Post tweets. The more people retweet you, the bettter.

Flickr: Post photos. You don’t need to post 200 photos every day, just get people to interact with the ones you do post through their comments and favorites.

YouTube: Post Videos. Again, no need to post 20 videos a day, just get people to interact with the ones you do post through their comments and favorites.

Foursquare: Check in to locations. Busy, verified locations (like those with specials) are worth much more than frivolous ones like “my basement”. Write tips, and get others to complete them!

Instagram: Post photos. The more comments and likes you get on those statuses, the better.
WordPress: Post blog posts, and get others to comment on them.

LinkedIn and Blogs: Due to limited available information about these connections, we pay a lower, fixed amount for Blogs and LinkedIn. They only contribute to your earnings if this amount is among your top five earnings.

All Networks: Your earnings and dividends will increase as you increase your Network Score.

Many of you have noticed that how EAv worked before is that the content changes would be effective every couple of days.  Notice, the big drop you had after being away for the weekend.  They’ve changed that.  Now, it’s going to make changes based on Several Weeks of activity.  Which is a great game changer.  This will factor in your lack of weekend activity and average it all out.

What are your thoughts?  Will this make EAv a better system?  You know longer have to make 200-400 post a day to have great dividends.  Just getting people to interact with you is a much better approach and a great key to survival on EAv.  You may have noticed top players such as e(Pirillo) skyrocket their dividends.  This is because they have a lot of community interaction.  Especially on Youtube and Facebook.  This is key.
