Cleaning Out Your Ears With Peroxide

If you’re like me, you get clogged ears from time to time and you need to clean out the wax in them.  I just got done cleaning them with Peroxide.  It works rather well for that purpose.

You probably shouldn’t use Peroxide if you have a ear infection.  It might make it burn a little.  Here is a good ehow article on how to clean out your ears.  Just click on the image to take you straight to the article.

Although the article is a good one, I think they over dramatized the whole process a little bit.  Yeah, sure, you get a little bit of bubbling and what not, but if you won’t get no where near the uncomfortableness that the article appears to perceive.  Enjoy.

Young adults nowadays think that Flipping Burgers is below them.  It’s a great first starter job.  It’ll teach you lots of things, like dedication, time management, and numerous other things.  On top of that it’ll add spending money in your pocket.

If you’re smart though, you’d realize that you’re not going to get a six figure job right out of High School.  Not unless you create your own job.  Here are some things that you wish you had learned in school.

The Problem With Using Old Technology

I’m sure it’s happened to you, you go to use a piece of older technology you have, only to find out that you’re missing something.  This can be a headache.

My problem?  I was going to use my old Sony Handycam, but in order to get the video off the tape, I needed a Firewire cable, which I didn’t have.  Not just any Firewire cable though, a 4 pin to 6 pin cable.

This is annoying simply because I spent half a day running around town looking for one and no one had one.  We went to Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Staples, Radio Shack…..ok Radio Shack had one, but it was like $35 for one 6ft Cable?  Seriously?  That explains why they still have theirs in the store.

I came home and did a little research.  Low and behold, I can get what I need for my Camera for a mere $5.  That’s it.  Radio Shack can keep their $35 cable.  I’ll put that extra $30 in my pocket.

Where did I find this cable at?  Amazon of course, of all the places.  Now, all I have to do is just order the dang thing and be done with it.  Then I’ll have better quality video for my Youtube channel and I’ll be able to mess around with video editing a bit better.

What do you do with your computers spare time?

Many people do what they need to do on their computers and just go about their day.  What if you could put that computer to use actually providing valuable data to the Scientific community?

There are actually several screen savers that will allow you to take part in Scientific data.  There are also programs that you can download and install such as Community World Grid.

This program will allow you to take part in a minute way by allowing your computer to process information for Scientific Research.  These research programs include data on Cancer, Aids, and numerous other diseases as well as some technology advancements.

One Geek actually built his computer with that in mind.  He thought about what he could do for the world.  Sense his computer just sits there when he’s not doing anything, why not put it to use?

This Geek also took and built his computer out of Lego parts.  This is intriguing for a lot of Geeks out there who love Lego.  In fact, one could go as far to say it’s intriguing to a lot more than just the Geek community.

My Thoughts On Abortion

Now, I’m probably going to get some flaming comments and heated debates about this topic, but I wanted to make it clear how I felt about Abortion.  The short answer?  I’m against it.  Here’s why.

Some people may not know this, but there are options for Pregnant women.  The last thing we need them doing is giving up on life completely.  Pregnancy centers and adoption centers are there for them when they need it.

Let me ask you a couple of questions.  Is it legal for someone to murder a child?  Is it legal for someone to murder a child that is only 6 months into pregnancy?  Chances are, you answered no to both those questions.  Then why should it be legal for someone to commit murder on any child?

Well, what about rape victims?  Shouldn’t they have the option to abort?  Can I abort your brain right now for asking that question?  I’m sure we can put it to good use for Scientific study to find out why some people become stupid.

Let’s get a few things straight.  If you abort a child, you might be aborting the next great scientist with the cure for aids.  You might be aborting the next great person who’ll be able to bring this world closer to world peace.  You might be aborting the next great doctor who discovers a way to double the life expectancy of mankind.

Women that abort their children can attest that it crosses their minds all the time.  It’s another pain that they have to deal with on a daily basis.  So, if a woman was raped, then why should she be “Forced” to go through another pain that could scar her for life?

It’s much better for a person to go through life and become a stronger person knowing that they gave their child the best chance they could give them.  Not to mention easier.  Abortion should not be an option.  Period.

Abortion in my opinion is an atrocious act towards humanity.  Any sane mother wouldn’t kill their children, so why should we be allowed to do that legally?  Which side of the fence are you going to be on when it boils down to it?  Life or Death?

100 Push Up Challenge

Push Ups are probably one of the easiest ways to gain strength.  Want to build strength and can’t get to a gym?  The old fashion Push Up just might be your answer.

The 100 Push Up challenge is designed to get you doing 100 push ups in about six weeks, quicker than that if you can do 20+ push ups.  If you can do 60-80 push ups.  They also have a bit more challenging workouts that you can do.

Fitness level according to push ups.  My fitness level is currently 4 out of 7.  I can do 35 push ups and on the 35th one, I’m starting to shake with fatigue.

Why is fatigue important?  When you start feeling fatigue, you start to lose posture.  Posture is important when working out, so you don’t injure yourself.  Preventing injury is the key to a successful workout.

Why the 100 challenge?  Well, I can’t do 100 push ups yet, so why not?  Also, having a goal to reach for will more likely keep you motivated.  Especially if you share your goal with your family and friends.  Better yet, start a blog like this one.

If push ups get a little easy for you, you could always move on to the 200 challenge.  If that gets easy for you, move on to the Hindu Push Up challenge.  Ok, maybe I made that one up, but still.  Change it up when it gets easy.

When you go to Week 1, they give you the recommended place to start.  For me, they recommended that I start on Week 3, looks like I’ll get done with this in a months time.

Day one looks a little something like this…….

Day 1

rest 60 seconds between each SET (longer if required)

> 25 push ups

set 1 – 14 set 2 – 18 set 3 – 14 set 4 – 14 set 5  max (at least 20)

It progressively increases each day, so you’re doing a little more each day.  There are three days in the workout, which allow for you to take a break in between the work outs.  So, you’re workout days would look something like, Mon, Wed, Fri.

My over all goal here?  To gain strength.  My muscles are kind of weak in this day and age.  On top of that, I’m kind of out of shape.  So, when something heavy needs lifting, I have trouble some times and need to increase that strength and how many people do you know that can do 100 push ups?

Why We Make Mistakes?

Many people often make mistakes.  Yet, sometimes we don’t know why.  I recently had to make a change in my Biggest Reasons Why Americans Are Overweight post.  It was a simple mistake too that anyone can make.

Down at the bottom, when I started talking about “they’re tampering with our health,” I had out instead of our.  Simple mistake right?

What about when we make mistakes that are big mistakes, the ones that make us feel a little down?

Today, I finished my workout routine.  Well, the Cardiovascular part of it anyway.  I found out that I actually had an error in my last calculation on Calories burned.  Yesterday, I had thought that I burned about  363 calories, when it was no where near.

Here’s the formula that I used to calculate those Calories.  men: calories = [(0.6309 x heart rate) + (0.2017 x age) — (0.09036 x weight) — 55.0969] x time / 4.184.

 See the part where it says — 55.0969]?  Yeah, I missed that completely in my calculation.  Somehow, someway, I just totally left it out.  So, while figuring out the new calculation, I was slightly disappointed.

Can you imagine how disappointing it is to find out that you’re not burning 300+ Calories, but instead you’re burning more like 186.  And that’s after increasing your time on the Elliptical to push yourself?  Sags head and walks away………

Ok, maybe not quite yet.  Unless I’m doing the formula wrong, there’s a big mistake there, but what can we learn from mistakes?

For starters, we can’t dwell on them.  We have to move on and learn from them.  We have to be more careful next time, so that we won’t make the same mistake again.  Life is too short to be filled with fouls.

It also helps to not be tired when you’re writing a blog post.  You’re more likely to catch those mistakes.  So make sure you get a good nights sleep.

So, what! if. I; make/misteaks….Get over it.  That’s all we can do right?  Get over it and move on.  Learn from them and not bash ourselves too much.

Biggest Reasons Why Americans Are Overweight!

Americans are said to be the most over weight, but many have a hard time figuring out why.  Why is it that many Americans are starting to be overweight and in worse health than the previous generation?  I think I have the answer.

Reason 1

Exercise….
Many Americans nowadays aren’t getting enough exercise.  That’s right, something as simple as exercise can have a big impact on our daily lives.  In the movie WALL-E, the people roamed around on hover chairs.  Who needs a wheel chair right?  Especially when the machine will do all the work for you.

Is that the kind of life style we want?  To be subjects who are limited in our mobility based on some machine?  Right now many kids are experiencing this because of Parents not letting their kids play in the park.  Instead, they’ll let them play Video Games all day and do nothing.

Now, before you go bashing Video games and start blaming the games themselves, maybe you should take a closer look a parenting.  I play Video Games myself, but that doesnt’ mean that Nerds can’t be fit.  I in fact have started a Cardio Routine, which will eventually turn into running, which in turn will turn into a Marathon.

I have goals, kids nowadays, don’t.  That’s partly because parents let their kids spend too much time playing Video Games as apposed to….well, playing.

Reason 2

Over Indulging…..
Many restaurants have started (in the last decade)  increasing portion sizes.  Now, they even go as far as encourage you to get a large or (in some cases) super-size.  In this case, bigger isn’t always better.  Tell me something.

Do you feel better now that you’re bigger?  Again, bigger isn’t always better.  My parents often times make two meals out of one meal when they go out to eat.  Why?  Many of these meals are filled with Calories.  Many of them over 1,000 calories.  That’s half a days Calories for most.

Reason 3

Quality of Food
Our food quality has reduced in the last 10-20 years drastically.  Farmers are basically killing the land that they farm one with all the chemicals that they spray on plants.  Therefore, we’re forced to look for alternatives: plants that are bug resistant, plants that yield more, and even plants that grow better in certain climates.

When you start tampering with plants: spraying chemicals, changing DNA strands, making them more volatile, something has to give.  So, where do we suffer?  In Nutritional Value.  I can’t stress this enough….

Life is too precious to tamper with.  By tampering with those plants, they’re tampering with our health.  Empty calories adds to our over all weight.  Really.  What else is our body going to use useless calories for?

Minecraft – Adventures with TFLAT – Search for the Cove

I booted up Minecraft today to make a new episode.  The series starts off on the wrong foot and things appear to be going slow.  What will the next episode bring us?  My goal in this series is to find the cove, which will be in the next episode, and build a port of some sort.  Be it a Pirates port or what ever I can think of.  Life is too short to not enjoy.  Minecraft is one of my enjoyments.  Even if it doesn’t start off so good, it’s still a fun pass time.
